Description

Commerce House is a timber-framed and plastered house dating from the 18th century, featuring a red brick front with a parapet and a wooden cornice adorned with arched dentils. The building stands two storeys tall and has a five-window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars in flush cased frames. The central window on the upper storey has a semi-circular arched head and "Gothic" arched glazing bars in the upper panes. The entrance is marked by a central six-panel door, which is framed by a wooden doorcase that includes a semi-circular ornamental fanlight, panelled pilasters, and an open pediment with fret ornamented dentils.
