Description

Oakleigh and shop is a timber-framed and plastered house, likely from the 17th century, which was refaced in 19th century gault brick that is painted. It features a cross wing at the south end that was raised and refaced in gault brick during the 19th century, with some exposed timber framing visible. The building is two storeys tall. The main block has a two-window range, while the cross wing has one window, both featuring double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in plain reveals. The first-storey windows have stuccoed lintels. There is a small 19th-century shop bay with a six-panel door, and a cart entrance is located at the north end. The roof is covered with old tiles, and the cross wing is adorned with ornamental 19th-century bargeboards.
