Description

Aurora House and Shop is a timber-framed and plastered building dating from the 16th to 17th century, located on Hall Street in Long Melford, Perryville. It features a cross wing at the south end and a 19th-century gault brick extension at the north end. The cross wing is finished in roughcast and has late 19th-century windows, including double-hung sashes with single vertical glazing bars, and a three-light window on the first storey. The main block has modern casements with glazing bars and one three-light double-hung sash window on the ground floor. There is a 19th-century double-fronted shop window, and the 19th-century addition at the north end includes a small shop front. The roofs are tiled, and the main block retains an original chimney stack with four grouped octagonal shafts, one of which has been rebuilt.
