Description

Brown's Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century, with later alterations and additions. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, with some painted brick, and has a red plain tiled roof. The building has two red brick chimneystacks and is two storeys high, presenting a six-window range. The two right bays are later extensions, and there are 20th-century casements and a 20th-century gabled porch on the right side. Inside, the original frame includes jowled storey posts and arched braces to the tie-beam near the chimneystack. There is a back-to-back inglenook fireplace, and some restoration has been carried out on the ground floor ceilings.
