Description
Cherry Ground is a cottage dating from the 16th century, with later alterations and a rear extension. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a thatched roof. The building has two storeys and an off-centre left red brick chimneystack. The front has a three-window range of 20th-century Tudor style leaded three-light casements, and a 20th-century plank and muntin door to the left. Inside, there are jowled storey posts and arched braces supporting the central tie-beam, although one brace has been cut away. The stairs are located by the chimney, and there is an inserted ceiling with flat section ceiling beams. The large chimneystack has been blocked. The interior also includes vertically boarded and panelled doors with hand wrought hinges, and a side purlin roof.
