Description

The serpentine wall enclosing the gardens at the rear of the former Congregational Chapel in Long Melford is a red brick structure from the 18th or early 19th century. It stands approximately 4 feet 6 inches high and surrounds the gardens on the north, south, and west sides of the chapel. The wall is designed with a series of concave and convex curves, and it is locally referred to as a Crinkle-Crankle wall.
