Description

6 and 8 Market Place is a large, late 18th century, three-storey, L-shaped house with wings extending to the east and north. It is timber framed and plastered, with tiled roofs. The south and west fronts feature a wood dentil eaves cornice. The plasterwork is limed. The south front is divided into two tenements, each with a three-window range. The windows are sash with glazing bars, and the central window of each tenement on the second floor has an arched head with radial bars. The first floor's central window has a small wooden flat hood supported by brackets. The central doorcases are topped with wooden pediments on scroll brackets, and the doors are six-panel.
