Description

The Town Hall, built in 1851, is a rectangular Italianate building that stands two storeys high. It features a five-bay front, with the central and flank bays slightly advanced and highlighted by rusticated stone quoins. The structure is made of red brick, complemented by gray brick eaves and a gray brick band at the springing level of the flank arched entrances, which are adorned with stone voussoirs. The inner three bays contain arched windows, with the central window designed in a Palladian style and displaying a sculptured coat of arms beneath it. The building is topped with a hipped slate roof and has a three-bay return to the east.
