Description

Nos 45 and 47 on High Street are a 17th-century hall house with cross wings on the north and south sides. The building has two storeys and is constructed with a timber frame and plaster, featuring tiled roofs. The upper storeys of the cross wings project at the front, but much of this area is underbuilt by small late 18th-century shop fronts, which have been partly altered. The interior contains notable features, and there is a National Monuments Record photograph available. Nos 45 to 55 (odd) are recognized as a group.
