Description

No. 55 High Street is a building that likely dates from the 17th century. It has two storeys and attics, with a timber-framed and plastered structure, and tiled roofs. The cross wing at the north end originally had an upper storey that projected at the front but has since been underbuilt with a shop. The main block features a two-window range with flush frame sash windows that have glazing bars. There is an additional wing at the back of the main block. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 45 to 55 (odd).
