This is an 18th-century building, with later alterations, located on the north-east side of High Street. It is a two-storey structure built of plastered brick with a slate roof. The front facade has a four-window arrangement, featuring flush frame sash windows with glazing bars. The entrance to number 56 is through a six-panel door, incorporating fielded upper panels, an oblong fanlight, and a wooden surround with slender Doric pilasters. The ground floor of the property includes a shop with a central entrance and a wooden surround.
