Description

The George Inn is a 16th-century building that has undergone significant alterations, particularly at the front. It is two storeys high with attics, featuring a timber frame and plastered exterior, and has tiled roofs. The front of the inn displays three gables, including a small one above the carriage entrance at the north end, with the upper storeys projecting. The two main gables each have large sash windows with glazing bars, and there is a 19th-century bay window situated between them. The ground floor has been modified for bar use, and there is a six-panel door. The George Inn is part of a group with Nos 40 to 58 (even).
