Description

Tye Cottage, located opposite Hawkins Farm in Monks Eleigh, is a medieval building constructed from timber framing and plaster. It features a modern tiled roof made of old tiles and has a ridge chimney stack with attached shafts. The cottage has been restored and renovated, including a large mullioned window on the north side that has also been restored. Inside, there is a heavy cambered and braced tie beam along with a restored crown post, and the cottage includes an open fireplace.
