Description
Over Hall is a house with early 18th century features that may have origins from an earlier period. It is constructed of red brick and has a red plain tiled roof, with parapet verges and a moulded eaves cornice. There is a band and end red brick chimneystacks, along with rear wings. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring two gabled dormers and a five-window range of small paned vertically sliding sash windows. The central entrance has a six-panel door with a moulded surround and a lintel supported by brackets. There was no internal inspection at the time of the re-survey. Historically, the Manor of Over Hall, along with Nether Hall, was one of the two manors of Shotley, as noted in White's 'Directory of Suffolk' from 1844.
