Description

Manor Farmhouse is an early 18th-century house with alterations dating to circa 1746. The side and rear walls are built of red brick in English bond, while the front wall is of grey brick, similar to that used in the Manor House, Little Shelford. It has a steeply pitched tiled roof with tumbled parapets at the ends, supported by kneelers, and end stacks. A decorative “saw tooth” eaves cornice was added around 1746. The house is in an L-shaped layout, with two storeys and attics, and features three hipped dormers. The symmetrical front facade has five recessed sash windows with twelve panes each, set within segmental arches. The first-floor windows have early 19th-century decorative mouldings above them. An unmoulded band of three brick courses runs between the ground and first floors. The central doorway has a 20th-century gabled porch. Inside, there is an 18th-century staircase with a closed string and turned balusters.
