Description

No. 33, Church Street is a rectory built in 1858 for the Rev. James Edward Law. The building is constructed of gault brick with dressings of Ketton stone, and has steeply pitched plain tiled roofs with octagonal end, ridge, and side stacks topped with projecting caps. It is planned asymmetrically and designed in an Early English Gothic revival style. The building is two and two-and-a-half storeys high. The front elevation is characterised by four gables. Windows have pointed arches with one, two or three trefoil lights, and contain plate glass. Two bay windows feature similar trefoil cusping to four lights, with stone mullions and transoms. The off-centre doorway is set within a gabled porch with a two-centred outer arch. The property is included on the list for its group value with the adjacent church.
