2/120 No 45, Royal Hospital School and attached wall and garage to left

GV II

House. Circa 1925-33. Buckland and Heywood. Red brick with lighter brick panels below first floor windows, defined by darker brick flush dressings. Hipped dark red plain tiled roof. Right and left chimneystacks to returns. Band below ground floor windows. 2 storeys. 7-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes, moulded surrounds, gauged arches. Circular central first floor window, small paned glazing. Central 6-panel door, moulded stone surround with raised lugs, frieze and pediment. The attached wall to left with panelled gate in round-headed arch connects the house to the single storey garage of similar materials, hipped roof and panelled doors. The house flanks the north entrance to the main range of the school and forms an opposite pair with No 46, qv 2/49.
