Royal Hospital School

The Royal Hospital School is a house built between 1925 and 1933 by architects Buckland and Heywood. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a hipped dark red plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a symmetrical facade with five windows. At the center, there is a pedimented doorcase flanked by pilasters that have fluted capballs and moulded bases, along with a plain entablature. The door is surrounded by a moulded frame and consists of six sunk moulded panels. On either side of the door, there are circular pivoting lights with glazing bars set in moulded frames. To the far left and right, there are horned sash windows with glazing bars, each consisting of two rows of four panes, and a brick band at the cill level of these sashes. The first floor has five similar windows, which feature flat-headed arches and flush surrounds picked out in darker brick. This darker brick continues vertically between the outer windows of each storey, creating the appearance of an apron for the upper floor windows. There is an attached garage on the left side of the building.
