Description
West House at the Royal Hospital School is a house built around 1925 to 1933 by architects Buckland and Heywood. It features red brick in Flemish bond with hanging tiles on the first floor central band and a hipped dark red plain tiled roof. There are external stacks on both the left and right sides, with shaped stone offset brackets above the eaves on the right. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical facade with three windows. The central door consists of six recessed panels and is sheltered by a flat canopy supported by brackets. On either side of the door are canted bay windows that contain horned sashes with glazing bars. The first-floor windows also have horned sashes with glazing bars; the outer windows have three panes by four panes, while the central window has two panes by four panes.
