Description
Nos 33 and 34 at the Royal Hospital School are a pair of houses built around 1925 to 1933 by Buckland and Heywood. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with hanging tiles on the first floor and a central band. The hipped roof is covered with dark red plain tiles and features central and external stacks, the external stack having small stone offsets. The buildings are two storeys high and have a six-window range. The first-floor windows are small paned vertically sliding horned sashes, with the outer windows of each house having four panes by four panes, and the central window having three panes by four panes. There are angled bays on the ground floor to the left and right, which contain horned sashes with glazing bars. The two central tripartite sashes also have glazing bars and moulded surrounds. Each house has a central entrance door located at the second and fifth bays, consisting of six raised and fielded panels with moulded surrounds and flat canopies supported by fluted brackets. Attached walls on the left and right connect to adjoining staff accommodation.
