Description

The Royal Hospital School, built around 1925 to 1933 by architects Buckland and Heywood, is a house made of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring hanging tiles on the first floor central band. It has a hipped dark red plain tiled roof and external stacks on the left and right, with the left stack having shaped stone offset brackets above the eaves. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical facade with a three-window range. The central entrance features a moulded doorcase with fluted brackets supporting a flat canopy, and the door consists of six raised and fielded panels. To the left is a tripartite horned sash window with glazing bars, while the right side has a canted bay window with horned sashes and glazing bars. The first floor has horned sash windows, with the outer windows having four panes by four panes and the central window having three panes by four panes.
