Description

Weavers is a 16th-century timber-framed house that was refronted in the late 18th century with red brick. It features two gables on the south side at the rear and has two storeys plus attics. The front has three windows, which are double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in plain reveals. The central window on the first storey is located in a slightly recessed brick panel. There is an attractive central six-panel door with a semi-circular fanlight and panelled reveals, also set in a slightly recessed brick panel. The roof is tiled and dates from the 20th century. Inside, the house boasts a fine 16th-century ceiling with moulded and carved beams, moulded joists, and a central boss carved with a Tudor Rose. Additionally, there is a well-crafted late 18th-century or early 19th-century staircase featuring cut strings and swept handrails.
