Description
This is a timber-framed and plastered house, likely dating back to an earlier period but significantly altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. It comprises two adjoining houses, now rendered in roughcast. The building is two storeys high and has a five-window frontage. The upper floors feature double-hung sash windows with single vertical glazing bars. The ground floor of number 9 has double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. Number 7 has a 19th-century double-fronted shop on the ground floor. A 6-panel door, with a moulded wood architrave and cornice, is located in number 9. The roofs are tiled with old tiles. This building is recognised for its group value with the neighbouring properties at Nayland and Wissington.
