Description

Numbers 1 and 2 The Smithy are mid-19th century semi-detached cottages located on Norwich Road in Ashwellthorpe. The cottages are constructed from roughcast clay-lump with a brick plinth and feature a pantile roof with gabled ends. They stand two storeys high and have four windows, which are three-light metal frame casements with shouldered arches on the top lights. On the ground floor, there are two flush-panel doors set within moulded doorcases. A central brick chimney stack is present on the roof.
