11 And 13, Market Street

11 and 13 Market Street is a pair of shops located in Wymondham, dating back to around 1600 with later additions. The buildings are timber-framed and feature pantiled roofs. The front elevation is two stories high with an underbuilt jetty and has two late 20th-century shop fronts. The first floor has close studding and is lit by three 3-light late 19th-century cross casements. The gabled roof includes internal gable-end stacks. At the rear, there are three-story brick additions from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Extending north from number 13 is a two-story timber-framed hall range, also with an underbuilt jetty, featuring casements and sashes and a gabled roof.

Inside, number 11 has a sunk-quadrant bridging beam on the first floor, which is tongue stopped to the south and embedded in a later wall to the north. Number 13 has a 20th-century open-plan ground floor and a rear wing with an inserted stack, with the winder located on the east side. It features a sunk-quadrant moulded spine beam with barred stops and a similar cross beam at the rear. The frame includes jowled principal studs and straight braces at the corners, along with one first-floor chamfered bridging beam that has bar, jewel, and tongue stops.
