Description
Wood Farmhouse is a lobby-entrance type farmhouse that dates back to the 17th century, with significant additions from the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is possibly timber framed, featuring one masonry gable-end. It is encased in brick, except for the gable-ends, which are timber framed on the north side and flint with brick dressings on the south side. The additions are made of brick, and the roofs are covered with pantiles. The farmhouse has two storeys with an attic.
On the east side, there are 18th-century two- and three-light windows with metal casements and original fittings. The 18th-century side wings also have similar windows set beneath skewback arches. The south facade features three three-light 19th-century mullion and transom windows on the ground floor. The front door is a two-leaf design, accompanied by a gabled porch that has a decorative barge board. There are various later extensions at the rear of the building. Notably, there are two interesting moulded brick heads, likely from the 16th century, set into the south gable-end.
