Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. The west wing, which is from the 17th century, is constructed of flint with occasional brick headers and brick dressings, while the east wing, built in the 18th century, is made of brick. The farmhouse has plaintiled roofs and is designed in an L shape, with two storeys and attics.
The west facade originally featured three bays with large windows, but most have been blocked or reduced, leaving only one bay with four arched lights that have rendered brick mullions. The north gable is stepped and has a massive stack that remains in part, despite the hipped roof added in the 18th century. There are two dormers with hipped roofs. The rear has been re-faced, and the east wing has been added. Notable features include three-light mullioned windows beneath cambered arches, a rectangular bay window, two simple doorways, and a dentiled plat-band. The east gable shows tumbling-in.
Additionally, there is a fine late 17th-century garden wall made of brick and flint, which includes rusticated brick gate piers.
