Description

This barn, located 20 meters south-west of The Normans in Rockland St. Mary, dates from the mid-18th century and was originally a stable block. It is constructed of brick and partly colourwashed, topped with a thatched roof. The north side features an arched entrance doorway on the left and four battened semi-circular windows, three of which are positioned to the right of the entrance. There are two first-floor windows, one battened and the other glazed from the 20th century. The roof is gabled with tumbling in the gable heads. The interior is floored and the roof structure includes ties, principals, two tiers of staggered butt purlins, and collars. This building is included for its group value.
