Description
This barn and hayloft, built in the early 19th century, is located 25 meters northeast of Old Hall in Rockland St. Mary. Constructed from brick and topped with a pantiled roof, the building features a door in the west gable with a segmental weatherboarded head. Above this door, to the right, is a hayloft door, and the gable head displays a clock face. The east gable head is also weatherboarded. There are outshuts on the south flank and a pedestrian entrance on the north flank, all beneath a gabled roof. Inside, a floor bridging beam remains towards the east end, although the floor itself has been removed. The interior includes one tie beam supported by straight braces, along with one tier of taper tenoned butt purlins and collars.
