Description
Scole Lodge Nursing Home is a late 18th century to early 19th century house located on the southeast side of Norwich Road in Scole. The building is constructed of buff-coloured brick and features a low-pitched hipped slate roof with a modillion eaves cornice. It stands three storeys high with a three-bay central block flanked by two-storey, one-bay wings that are slightly set back. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, topped with straight rubbed brick arches, and there is a band at the first-floor cill level. The central porch is supported by Tuscan columns and has a semi-circular entablature, leading to a wide panelled door with a traceried rectangular fanlight. The ground floor windows of the wings are three-light sashes set in segmental arched recesses. To the left (north) is a single-storey service wing, also made of buff-coloured brick, with a hipped slate roof and five windows.
