Description
The Paddocks is a large house built around 1840 in a gothic style, featuring an asymmetrical design. The structure is made of stuccoed brick with rusticated quoins and has a tiled roof with gabled ends. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and consists of four bays. The right of centre has a gabled section with a circular panel that contains a quatrefoil. There are large two-light pointed arch casements with intersecting glazing bars and dripmoulds. The prominent doorway, also right of centre, is a large moulded pointed arch with a fanlight featuring leaded panes, and it is accompanied by a wooden trellis porch.
At the south end, there is a significant two-storeyed splayed bay that includes similar gothic casements and gothic French windows on the ground floor with cusped lights. The rear of the house is gabled, and it features brick chimney stacks with grouped octagonal flues and a small domed bellcote. Additionally, there is a contemporary two-storey wing at the north end, which has a later addition.
