Description
The remains of Melton Hall, dated 1611 according to the White Directory of 1883, are located on Great Melton Hall Road. This is a ruinous E-plan brick house, with some walls still standing to about 15 feet. The main entrance features pilasters that flank an ovolo moulded door of two orders. The side wings have polygonal angle buttresses. The window openings are surrounded by chamfered brick, with provisions for chamfered mullions. Additionally, there are remains of a canted bow window on the east side wing.
