Description

The Hollies is a mid-19th century house located on Great Melton Road in Hethersett. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof. The building has a double depth design with three bays and two storeys, topped by a shallow pitched hipped roof that has wide eaves supported by paired modillions. There are two chimneys located at the rear of the house. The windows are recessed sashes, and the central doorway is framed by a classical doorcase with fluted Tuscan columns. Above the door, there is a canopy with a cornice made of paired modillions and rectangular overlights that have geometric glazing bars. The Hollies is noted for being an intact example of a mid-19th century house.
