Description

Service buildings, likely a carriage house and outbuildings, were constructed around 1865, with later additions and alterations in approximately 1905 and 1960. The buildings are built of red brick with yellow brick and ashlar dressings, topped with plain tile roofs and coped gables, exhibiting a Renaissance Revival style. The layout is generally L-shaped, with a single storey and attic. The main east-west range features pilasters, angle pilasters, and a panelled frieze below a brick eaves cornice. The west end is slightly lower than the rest of the structure. The north side has a central projection containing a round arched carriage entry with a faceted keystone and a pediment. A blocking course with urn finials is present, as are panelled round arched double doors. Flanking the carriage opening are round arched niches with impost bands and faceted keystones, on shaped brackets. Above, there are two box dormers, and a paired stack matching those of the main house. A four-stage octagonal clock tower rises on the south side, with ashlar string courses and intermediate cornices. It has flat-headed windows on the lower stages, an octagonal wooden bell turret with alternating louvred openings and clock dials, and an ogee copper dome with a finial. To the right of the tower is an open arcade and loggia, spanning three bays, with a central round arched entrance and steps featuring tile detail. Inside the loggia, a steel truss roof is visible.
