Description
Lyng Cottages is a pair of houses built in the early 19th century, with a mid-19th century rear outshut. They are constructed of brick and topped with a pantile roof. Each house has two storeys, consisting of one window bay and a door bay. There are two central panelled doors with moulded timber cases and small hoods. Each house features one ground floor 20th century sash window under gauged skewback arches, and 19th century sashes above with glazing bars. The eaves cornice is dentil, and the roof is gabled. There is an internal gable-end stack to the left on the front slope, which was previously at the ridge before the roof was heightened at the rear to create a large outshut. The left house, No.18, has its stack on the rear slope.
