Description
The Methodist Church in Wymondham was built in 1870 and is constructed of gault brick with red brick dressings. The roof is not visible but is likely slate. The building has two storeys and features a facade made up of two gables, with the steeper gable at the center projecting forward in front of the other. The lower stages of the facade and its returns have horizontal rustication. There is a round-arched doorway flanked by a pair of columns, and the main window consists of triple stepped lancets. The junction between the center bay and the recessed gable is marked by low quadrants that are pierced by three lancets. The returns of the building have six lancets separated by brick pilasters.
Inside, the south end is separated by a 20th-century glass screen. A timber gallery is supported by cast iron columns and leads to a bowed and pierced cast iron balustrade. The north side is designed to accommodate a timber organ case, and the interior features plain box pews.
