Description
Costessey Park House is a 17th-century building that has been significantly altered over time. It was originally the dower house for Costessey Hall. The structure is made of colour-washed flint and brick, topped with a pantiled roof. It features a double E plan and has been heightened by one storey, with a complete refurbishment in the 19th century. The house has two storeys and a cellar. The windows are scattered and of the chamfered mullion type, fitted with leaded lights. The front door is of late Gothic design, and the house has crow-stepped gables. There are two axial stacks with 19th-century Cosseyware brick chimney pots designed in a Gothic style. The building has 20th-century extensions to the east and south. Inside, there are original stacks with remodelled double fireplaces, two original principal beams with ogee chamfer stops, and a cellar featuring a brick barrel vault.
