Description
No. 38 Elm Hill is a house that was formerly a rectory and is now a shop. It dates from the 18th century and is constructed of brick with a low-pitched pantile roof. The building has three storeys and a cellar, featuring three windows on the first and second floors. The entrance consists of a part-glazed door with six panels, set in a simple surround beneath a segmental brick arch. To the left of the door is a three-light sash window with glazing bars, which is positioned under a flat rubbed brick arch. On the right side, there is a late 19th-century shop front that includes internal cast-iron columns. The first-floor windows are sashes with glazing bars, also located under flat rubbed brick arches. A moulded brick string course runs above the ground floor. The second floor has two casement windows and one 20th-century replacement window.
