Description

This is a mid-19th century house located on the north-west side of Newmarket Road. The building is constructed of yellow brick with a slate roof and features two brick chimneys. It is two storeys high and has three windows on the first floor. Rusticated brick quoins are visible. A double-leaf entrance door, reached by two steps, is positioned centrally and has a plain overlight; the reveals are rendered and flanked by pilasters topped with a simple entablature. A two-storey canted bay extends to the left and incorporates a dentilled string course and large-paned sash windows within flat, gauged brick arches. The remaining windows are also sash windows, set within rendered moulded architraves. A box cornice runs along the roofline. A 20th-century single-storey red-brick extension with a flat roof and picture window has been added to the left side of the property.
