Description
No. 34 St Giles Street is a former building of unknown use, now serving as a Salvation Army Citadel. It was renovated in the 20th century. The exterior is rendered with vermiculated rustication at the ground floor. The building has three storeys and six bays, with a carriage entry on the left side. The central door features a semi-circular fanlight set within a rusticated arch that has a figure-head keystone. The ground floor windows are two-light with semi-circular arches and vermiculated keystones. The building has sash windows with glazing bars throughout; the first floor features decorative panelled surrounds, while the second floor has eared and haunched surrounds. There is a moulded stringcourse with brackets between the ground and first floors, topped by a bracket eaves cornice.
