Description
The Old Meeting House is a Congregational Church dating from 1693, as indicated by a sundial. It is constructed of red brick with stone detailing, and has a pantile roof. The building is single-storied, incorporating a gallery. It comprises five bays defined by pilasters with Corinthian capitals and bases. Doors are situated in the outer bays, each with a brick eared surround and a flat hood supported by consoles. Sash windows with glazing bars are present throughout, each with raised brick surrounds and aprons. A stringcourse runs along the building, surmounted by a modillion eaves cornice. The roof is hipped. Internally, galleries extend along three sides, supported by Tuscan columns on the ground floor and Ionic columns on the first floor.
