Description

No. 31 is a mid-19th century house. It is constructed of red brick with a hipped slate roof and has two brick chimneys. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range, arranged symmetrically. A pair of steps lead to a panelled front door with an overlight containing rectilinear glazing bars. The door is flanked by fluted pilasters and Doric half-columns which support a triglyph frieze and a hood with a modillion cornice. Later two-storey square-fronted bays were added to the left and right, each featuring one large sash window with horns, and two smaller sashes. A double string course and a dentilled pediment are present on each of these bays. The building is finished with a modillion cornice.
