Description
Nos. 40 to 46 Bracondale is a terrace of four houses built in the mid-19th century. The facade is made of yellow brick, with the ground floor rendered, and features a slate roof and four brick ridge chimneys. The terrace is two storeys high with a basement and has eight first-floor windows arranged symmetrically. There are three steps leading up to six-panelled doors with fanlights that have intersecting glazing bars, set in round-headed recesses that alternate mostly with large-paned sash windows. A moulded string course runs along the building. The ground and first-floor windows of No. 40, as well as the first-floor windows of No. 42, have 16-pane sashes beneath flat gauged brick arches. The terrace is topped with a paired modillion cornice and features a gable parapet to the right. Additionally, there is a two-storey painted brick extension set back to the right of No. 40.
