Description
No. 113 on Queens Road is a former bakery, now used as a warehouse, dated 1914 on a plaque and featuring a later addition to the north. Designed by E. Boardman and Son, the building is constructed of red brick with stucco detailing. It has three decorated semi-circular arches above the frieze and pilaster panels on the first floor. The hipped pantile roof includes dormers with sloping glass roofs. The structure is three storeys high and consists of three bays. The windows are three-light metal casements with detached Doric column mullions that support the frieze lintel. The central first-floor panel features a segmental pediment with scrolls, and there is a heavy Corinthian entablature at this level. The three semi-circular moulded arches have keystones and a circular window above. An arched cornice is supported by scroll brackets. To the left, there are single-storey offices with casement windows that have raised and moulded surrounds, and a stringcourse runs above them. The building is topped with a pantile roof.
