Description
A terrace of seven houses at 1-7 Chester Place, built in 1869 by Edward Boardman. The houses are constructed of yellow brick with a slate roof and feature six brick ridge chimneys with moulded caps, along with two gable-end stacks. The terrace is two storeys high and symmetrical in design, with 21 first-floor windows in total. Each house has a panelled door (appearing as double-leaf) with a plain fanlight set within a recessed, round-headed arch of gauged brick, flanked by tripartite ground-floor windows beneath slightly cambered gauged brick arches. Large-paned sash windows with horns are present throughout. A modillion cornice runs along the top of the house. The terrace retains consistent, virtually unaltered features.
