Description
Eaton Grove, now Norwich High School for Girls, is a house that dates from the early to mid-19th century. The building is rendered and features a hipped slate roof in the Regency style. It has two storeys, a cellar, and an attic. The front facade is symmetrical with six first-floor windows. A central bow-fronted bay contains deeply recessed half-glazed double-leaf doors flanked by single-light side windows. There are two steps leading up to two Ionic columns and two pilasters that support a decorative iron lamp. The first-floor verandah is adorned with an iron balustrade. The windows are large-paned sashes with horns. At the top, there is an attic cupola with a domed roof and a weather vane. The right and left side elevations also feature bow-fronted bays. Additionally, there is a later 19th-century extension at the rear, which includes extensive ranges of school buildings.
