Description
The Felbrigg War Memorial is a First World War memorial cross located on Felbrigg Green, near the cottages at Nos. 14 and 15 The Green, which are also listed as Grade II. The memorial features a Latin cross with a sunburst and coronet carved in low relief at the intersection of the cross arms. At the base of the cross shaft, the word "VICTORY" is inscribed, with the letter 't' designed as a cross rising from the moulded foot of the shaft, resembling a Calvary.
The cross stands on a square pedestal that is raised on a single step. The top of the pedestal has a moulded design that creates shouldered blind arches on each face.
The main dedicatory inscription on the front of the pedestal reads: "TO KEEP IN MEMORY THE/ MEN OF FELBRIGGE/ WHO FELL IN THE/ GREAT WAR/ THEIR NAME LIVETH/ FOR EVERMORE." The dates 1914 – 1918 are inscribed on the rear, while the names of those commemorated are listed on either side. All inscriptions are carved in low relief.
The memorial is surrounded by railings supported by four low corner posts.
