Description
Cromer Lodge (south) is a lodge built in 1841 by J.C. and G. Buckler for William Howe Windham, designed in the Tudor style. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a shingle roof. It has a two-cell plan with a gabled east front facing the road. The front includes a brick plinth and a canted bay window with five lights, stone mullions, and a transom. A stone cornice and a stone-dressed parapet are present, along with a shaped gable that displays a stone panel bearing the arms of W.H. Windham, topped by a lion. The north face has a door and a single light window, with a parapet above. There is an axial stack with two polygonal shafts and star heads, and a shaped gable to the west with a stack that has a single shaft. The plinth features an iron railing attached to the north wall, along with a stone-dressed gatepier displaying a coat of arms and an iron gate with a scrolled head.
