Description
Cromer Lodge (north) is a lodge built in 1841 by J.C. and G. Buckler for William Howe Windham. It is designed in the Tudor style and constructed of brick with stone dressings, topped with a shingle roof. The building has a two-cell plan and features a gabled east (road) front. The front includes a brick plinth and a canted bay window with five lights, stone mullions, and a transom. Above the window, there is a stone cornice and a stone-dressed parapet. The shaped gable displays a stone panel bearing the arms of W.H. Windham, topped with a lion. The south face has a door and a single light window, along with a parapet. An axial stack features two polygonal shafts with star heads, while the west side has a shaped gable with a stack that has a single shaft. The plinth is accompanied by an iron railing attached to the south wall, and there is a stone-dressed gatepier with a coat of arms, leading to an iron gate with a scrolled head.
