Description

The icehouse at Felbrigg Park is a 18th-century structure that was restored in the 20th century. It is built of Flemish bond brick and features a brick dome, with a circular plan and entrance steps. The entrance includes a restored brick archway with raised reveals, a wooden lintel, and a brick tympanum. To the left, the wall has been rebuilt, while to the right, there is a quatrefoil-shaped inset. Inside, brick steps lead down a tunnel-vaulted passage, which now has an iron gate, leading to a brick well that is approximately 10 metres deep and 8 metres in diameter.
